Wordpress 2.3.x

Novetats de la versió 2.3.x

S'han millorat diversos aspectes i hi ha una colla de nova funcionalitat, la més important el suport d'etiquetes (tags) per a les entrades (dóna accés a totes les entrades amb la mateixa etiqueta, permet mostrar núvols d'etiquetes, etc.). També es notifica automàticament quan hi ha una versió nova de WordPress o de les extensions (plugins) utilitzades en el blog. En la versió 2.3.1 s'han fet correccions (entre altres de seguretat) i petites millores.

Què cal fer per a instal·lar-lo?

Si instal·les la traducció catalana per primera vegada, fes això:

1. Baixa't l'arxiu de la versió compilada
2. Descomprimeix-lo
3. Obre el fitxer wp-config.php amb un editor de text i busca cap a la línia 15 una que digui: define ('WPLANG', ' '); i canvia-la per define ('WPLANG', 'ca');
4. Dins del directori /wp-content crea un directori que es digui /languages i copia l'arxiu .mo allà
5. Puja l'arxiu wp-config.php al directori principal de la teva instal·lació de WordPress

7. Atenció: Si tens algun tema o plugin amb traducció catalana, comprova si al seu directori hi ha un fitxer anomenat ca_ES.mo, si és així reanomena'l com a ca.mo (si no ho fas, el tema o plugin t'apareixerà de cop en anglès).

Novetats de la versió 2.2.2

Copiaferro algunes notes al missatge anunciant la traducció a la llista de correu del projecte:

A la XTEC segueixen les recomanacions de Softcatalà (http://www.softcatala.cat) i el Termcat (http://www.termcat.cat) pel que fa a la localització al català de les aplicacions informàtiques.

Els canvis més importants que hi trobareu, comparant-les amb altres traduccions, fan referència a l'ús de l'imperatiu en segona persona del singular quan ens adrecem a l'ordinador (en comptes de l'infinitiu), i imperatiu en segona persona del plural (que correspon a tractament de "vos") quan és l'ordinador o el sistema qui s'adreça a l'usuari, així com l'ús del gerundi, de les majúscules i altres recomanacions de la guia d'estil. Pel que fa a la terminologia, he introduït canvis importants en algunes expressions, seguint sempre les indicacions del Termcat i el recull de termes, així com per coherència amb termes ja emprats a la XTEC des de fa molt de temps. Algunes de les més significatives són:

• "bloc" en comptes de "blog"
• "article" en comptes d'"entrada"
• "aparença" en comptes de "tema"
• "connector" en comptes de "plugin", "plug-in" i similars.
• "identificador" per referir-nos a l'identificador dels usuaris (login)
• "inici de sessió" per "log-in"
• ... i altres

Una altra decisió que hem pres és anomenar al fitxer final "ca.po" (i "ca.mo" a la versió compilada), i no "ca_ES". L'ús d'un codi de país és opcional i té sentit per a distingir variants lingüístiques que es corresponen amb fronteres estatals (per exemple, l'espanyol de Mèxic del d'Argentina), però aquest no és el cas del català. En tot cas, necessitaríem codis territorials que s'ajustessin a les nostres variants dialectals, cosa que no existeix. En definitiva, pensem que no ha de ser la versió "en català d'Espanya" del Wordpress, sinó simplement la versió "en català".

A continuació la llista de temes traduïts. Està per ordre d'arribada, potser caldria canviar-ho a alfabètic perquè comencen a ser un grapat, gràcies!

1. Pel WordPress 2.0.1
2. Descarrega l'arxiu comprimit (en format ZIP) fent clic aquí (són 52 K de no res).
3. Descomprimeix l'arxiu onsevulla. El resultat és un directori (o carpeta) que nom default-cat.
4. Mou el directori default-cat a la teva instal·lació del WordPress: cal que el posis dins el directori themes que és dins wp-content.
5. Configura el WordPress per què faci servir el tema default-cat.

El tema default està basat en el Kubrick.

Nota: les configuracions de data del WordPress no tenen efecte sobre aquest tema, que les porta prefixades. És com ho fan al tema original i ho hem respectat. Només hem modificat el format de data per mostrar-la amb un dels estils que escrivim les dates a la nostra banda de planeta. Si no t'agraden tal com surten, caldrà que que modifiquis els llocs on diu the_date i the_time al codi font en PHP.

En Txanny, des de la seva web Poètica Binària, ens facilita un parell de temes de la mateixa sèrie desenvolupats en Català i amb traduccions a l'Anglès i al Castellà. Temes configurables com a dues o tres columnes (o barreja d'ambdues combinacions). Cada un dels temes es poden descarregar des de la pàgina de la sèrie.

Sèrie Wind

La Sèrie Wind és una sèrie de temes molt lleugera i clara. Amb colors sòlids no carrega gràfics de fons o capçalera, el que la fa molt lleugera i ràpida. La sèrie s'ha desenvolupat en Català, i és disponible també en Castellà i Anglès. Desenvolupada per en Txanny.

Pel que sembla WordPress es ralenteix força quan té un idioma instal·lat a Mangas Verdes proposen una possible solució.

No funciona i tens PHP5

En Jaume Teixi ens explica que és per mor d'un bug del PHP5. Ha trobat aquí la solució consistent a comentar MAGIC1 per defecte i descomentant el del PHP5 «i ja el tinc en català.»

Novetats en les versions 2.2.x

La novetat més important en la versió 2.2 és la possibilitat d'arranjar la barra lateral i la imatge de capaçalera d'un blog des del panell d'administració sense necessitat de modificar els fitxers HTML de les plantilles (requereix que el disseny usat suporti aquesta funcionalitat). A la barra lateral s'hi pot afegir i treure el calendari, mostrar les darreres entrades, les categories o enllaços, etc., o canviar-ne l'ordre. Pel que fa a la imatge de capçalera, se'n poden canviar els colors de lletra i fons i es pot pujar un fitxer amb la imatge desitjada i fins i tot retallar-ne un tros de la mida adequada des de WordPress. En la versió 2.2.1 s'han corregit un grapat de petits errors i qüestions de seguretat. La versió 2.2.2 aporta millores pel que fa a la seguretat i algunes correccions en la traducció catalana. La versió 2.2.3 aporta millores de seguretat i correccions.
